This Is How I Plan To Minimize Regret For the Rest of 2022

On the first day of every month, I wonder if it’s finally time for me to execute my 30 days of writing. The longer I’ve procrastinated on this idea, the more I’ve struggled internally.

Well, I’m tired of that. It’s time to act.

I’m putting pen to paper to turn my thoughts into action.

I’m embarking on a 30-Day writing journey to minimize regret. Here’s why.


Why am I doing this?

I have something to prove: that it can be done, not just by anyone, but by me.

I need to pull myself out of a rut, a low vibrational state. I’ve been feeling somewhat stuck, and it’s time to turn it around.

I’ve been swimming against the current, facing an uphill battle, and it’s taken a hit on my self-esteem. I’m meeting resistance and a lot of closed doors as a result of ignoring the voice. The voice that tells me to write.

I’m going to surrender and heed my call, or shall I say my calling.


The less action you take, the more intrusive thoughts will smother you (and your potential).

The more idle you remain with the time you have, the more power you feed the limiting beliefs that will cloud your judgment and keep you in a negative feedback spiral.

For the last two weeks, I’ve been operating from a place of fear and doubt, and that is not who I am or who I aspire to be.

I want to get closer to the best version of myself.


I know who I am.

I’m not for everyone.

I’m cheerful by nature. I am confident, self-aware, positive, optimistic.

I’m open, inclusive, honest, and genuine. I’m not afraid to speak to my mind, and I know when silence sounds better.

I ask questions. I’m curious.

I’m full of life, energy, and enthusiasm. I surround myself with people who exude charisma, e.g., you know you’re the bomb, and you don’t feel the need to assert it.

Being my authentic self allows others to do the same. Feeling comfortable in my skin puts people at ease, or does the opposite, as the case may be.

I engage in perspectives that challenge my own when I feel safe and heard.

At my best, that’s who I am, and I want to return to that version of me.


It’s normal not to feel your best all the time. You’re human.

It’s also on you to address, prevent, or remove anything that blocks you from your own brilliance.

Some people are stuck and stay there. They’re afraid to meet their potential. They fear what’ll happen when they succeed. They’d rather not fail, so they don’t even try.

That’s not me, and if you’ve read this far, it’s also not you.

As I set out my intentions, limiting beliefs pop up.

Aren’t you afraid of sacrificing quality over quantity?

Who’s going to read your stories?

Are you going to regret not pitching all these stories to more established publications instead?

These next 30 days are going to be less about each article and story, and more about the process through which I can show up daily to keep my own promises.

Deliver on the promises you make to yourself. Do that enough times, and watch what happens.

My plan for minimizing regret in the latter half of 2022 is to become the person I know I am deep down:

A disciplined person who shows up each day to give it their best, and who isn’t afraid of reaching their potential, owning their voice, and using their platform, to shine their light.

I am unafraid. (At least I want to be.)


In Closing

Pursue the things you’ll regret the least. Head into 2023 knowing that you did your best with what you have and what you know.

Set yourself up for success. Spend your time in a way that will make you proud when you look back. Regain a sense of control over your life because certain things really are in your control.

Confidence. Clarity. Discipline. That’s what we hope to gain.

Seize every day while you still can, while you still have the vitality and life force of someone who believes in a brighter future and a better world.

  1. I’m with you, Melissa! Yes, it hurts to do it sometimes, and it’s not something we innately do and enjoy (writing is work, after all), but we’ll feel much better once we go through it.

    Also, our vibrations change day by day, but if we stick to our plan, we’ll grow so much confidence in ourselves to get things done, no matter what life throws at us.
