About Me

Hi, my name is Melissa Chanthalangsy.

In March 2021, I became a full-time writer to share my stories with the world and bring historically excluded voices to the page and screen. My purpose in storytelling is to inspire and empower and to unite my readers in our shared human experience.

I earned my MBA at the University of Rochester Simon Business School. In that time, I applied my experience at a Fortune 500 and later accepted a role as the Director of Sales and Marketing for a firm that analyzes feedback from local communities on change led by towns and cities.

Prior, I implemented and managed energy efficiency at the City of Rochester and advised on clean energy policy at the US Department of Energy. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Environmental Studies from the University of Chicago, where I also led research for the Program on the Global Environment.

When I’m not writing, I watch movies and TV shows, cook, read, practice yoga, and I always make sure to get my monthly fix of phó. Thanks for reading!
